Former Peoria High all-stater enters NCAA women's college basketball portal
Denali Craig-Edwards has entered the NCAA women's basketball transfer portal.
The former Peoria High all-stater will leave Western Michigan following her freshman season, announcing on social media her intentions Monday to leave the program. She appeared in 21 of the Broncos' 30 games where she averaged 1.8 points and 1.2 rebounds in 7.7 minutes per game.
"After a lot of thought and consideration," she posted on X.com "I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal. I want to say thank you to the coaches and staff. Also, thank you to the Western Michigan for embracing me and to everyone who has supported me."
As a senior at Peoria High, Craig-Edwards, a 6-foot Journal Star all-area forward, averaged 15.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.9 steals, 1.8 assists and 1.2 blocks in helping the Lions (29-4) win the 2023 Class 3A third-place trophy.
