New Downtown Peoria restaurant is now open for lunch. Here's a look at the menu

Saffron Social is now open for lunch.

The downtown Peoria restaurant − which opened nearly two months ago − will serve lunch beginning at 11 a.m. Monday through Saturday. The business is closed on Sunday.

Saffron Social features lunch dishes such as:

• BBQ chopped chicken salad
• Fish and chips
• Seafood pasta − which includes mussels, scallops and shrimp with a scampi sauce and parmesan
• Mahi tacos with a side salad
• Southwest belly burger − which includes glazed pork belly, two prime beef patties, cheddar cheese, BBQ aioli, caramelized onion, lettuce, tomato and pickles.
• House short ribs sandwich - which is served on toasted sourdough with garlic aioli, smoked gouda and caramelized onions.

Happy hour takes place from 3 to 5 p.m.
