Janet C. Hatch, 88, of Peoria and Morton, IL, passed away at 8:55 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Lutheran Hillside Village Assisted Living in Peoria.

She was born on December 26, 1935, in Evergreen Park, IL. She married Lester Hatch in 1957, and he passed away on December 1, 1983. She was preceded in death by a son, Gregg Hatch; and a brother, Wally Kuehnle.

Surviving are one daughter, Gail (John) Miller of Mackinaw, IL; and three sons, Gene (Tina) Hatch of Mackinaw, Charlie (Lynn) Hatch of Groveland, IL, and Brett (Julieta) Hatch of Estero, FL. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Chad Miller, Andrew Miller, Dustin Hatch and Maci Hatch; and two great-grandchildren, Blake Miller and Carson Miller.

Janet loved to watch and play golf and play bridge and Mahjong. She enjoyed travel and spent 17 years wintering in Estero, FL. In addition, she loved going to the movies and being around her family. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Alumni Chapter in Galesburg, IL, and Ft. Meyers, FL. Janet is a Knox College graduate and a 50-year club member. She was a substitute teacher and realtor in Morton, IL, along with volunteering at the Peoria Convention and Visitors Bureau and others.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A time to celebrate Janet's life will be on April 26, 2024, at the Lutheran Hillside Village Chapel in Peoria, IL. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., with a short service at 11:00 a.m. Private family inurnment of her remains will be at a later date at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton.
